The Trustee Sponsors event was held last Saturday in weather which was less than we have been used too in recent weeks, but we have to have some rain now and then or the course will suffer and then we will have a wee moan about that?  Rain or no rain it was not stopping Michael Ballantine from producing an excellent round of golf, his 45 points playing off a 20 handicap was good enough for 1st place and 2 shots clear of the next best score.  Leslie Lyttle achieved a score of 43 points, another great score playing off a h.cap of 14, it could easy have been a winning score but for Michaels outstanding points score!  In 3rd place was George Lockhart who had another great round of 42 points.  I am told anonymously (a member of his 4 ball… oops!) that George played a very good round of golf that could easily have been better, he enjoyed every minute of his four hours on the course and is always a pleasure to play with.  Im sure my playing partners will feel they must have been dealt a duff hand after reading that last sentence….lol.  The best gross score was that of Jonathan McNabb, a round of 76!  The best senior score was by Mal Cullen with 40 points!  The section winners were Keith Campbell 0-12, Willie Turner 13-18, Nelson Weir 19+, front 9 went to John Allen and the back 9 was won by Walter Beattie.,  Well done all those in the prizes and maybe next weeks Captains Day will see one of this weeks also rans with the big prize…. thats what brings us back each week, you just never know when that extra special round will turn up and its in everyone!

Eddie Millar has had some success recently and he has had some more…. 45 points gets Eddie 1st place in the Weekly Challenge closely followed by runner-up Mark Placett with 44 points and several more players scoring 40+ points!  Well done fellas!

Gavin McElmeel won the Sunday Sweep…well done Gavin!

Wishing Captain Kevin McCoy all the very best for this Saturday’s Captains Day!

Good luck and enjoy your golf!
