Great weather for the time of year although there is a nip in the air earlier and later in the day, so mid to late morning is just the perfect time for golf, fingers crossed it remains like this for a little longer.

The Armagh Potato Company sponsored winter league had another good turnout, the best score of week two was Cecil Brownlee’s 45 points, Cecil is no stranger to producing big scores in the winter league and a sound bet for a top 10 spot at the end of the eight week competition.  Second place was Ian Megaw with 43 points just pushing Pat Keegan into 3rd place on a countback, Sam Jenkins took the best gross this week.

Thank goodness we have the new mower, it makes a real difference to the course and I’m sure the greenkeepers will be pleased.  It’s a busy time for them as they always have plenty of projects planned for the winter months, especially with the Jimmy Bruen being hosted at Loughgall in the coming 2016 season!  We know our greenkeepers do great work, they always have the course looking good for the following season and this next season will be a big one for Loughgall!

The 9 hole Junior competition was won by John Harrison with 18 points, 2nd was Ben Currie with 17 points and Luke Weir was 3rd with 15 points!  Well done lads!

Good luck and enjoy your golf!
