The weather was quite good on Saturday for the Famous Grouse sponsored stroke competition and as always there were high numbers entering this event. It takes a steady round of golf to do well in this type of event, there was no one steadier or better than the man who won the competition and that was Noel Cooke! Noel has shown that on his day he’s a match for anyone, his handicap has come down considerably in the last few months and there is still more to come….watch this space! Paul Hughes took second place closely followed by James Curran in 3rd position. Stephen Graham had the best gross score on the day! Section winners were David McAdam 0-12, Barry Rayner 13-18, David Murray 19+, front nine went to Jackson Ruddoch and the back nine goes to Stuart Treanor. Best score by a senior was that of Rodney Clarke.
The Wednesday Sweep sponsored by Nutmeg Treasures was won with 17 points by Alastair Harrison…. Remember that name for future reference!
The weekly challenge sponsored by Murder Mystery NI was won by Noel Cooke with 46 points, five points clear of Evan Simpson on 41 points who just managed to push Stuart Treanor into 3rd place on a countback.
The 18 hole junior competition was won by Ben Currie with 34 points, in second place was Daniel Brown 29 and third place was Ciaran Foster who had 24 points. Emmett Lavery had the only 2.
Well done all those who were in the prizes and better luck next time the rest of us…
Good luck and enjoy your golf!
