February is with us and with it comes the snow, with more snow to come its likely to cause a few problems but Im sure if the course stays open our golfers will be there each week eager for the competition. We are one of the few courses that stay open most of the year, it takes a lot for LGC to be closed… great value for money for anyone looking for a golf club to join. The course is improving all the time with the excellent work undertaken by our greenkeepers. Loughgall has to be one of the best public courses to play within 100 miles and a friendlier club you will not find!

Putting Competition: After every competitor putted their 3 putts at short, medium and long distance on the putting mat only two players had the maximum 48 points which led to an alternate shot play-off. Stephen Crowe and Barry Rayner battled it out until finally after opportunities for both players….a winner emerged. Well done Stephen Crowe, this could be the pre-season preparation you need for your re-entry to the real thing when the season starts in March.
The Indoor Golf competition will be on again this Thursday at 8pm at Hoggs Bar, bring a putter if you wish but clubs will be provided for the event. Try and support your club if you can, its one of the few times where we can be competitve and have a social occasion outside of LGC. Last week went very well and it can only get better with a few more faces… hope to see you there!
The long awaited Team Challenge gets started this Saturday so good luck to all those taking part, its great to see such a competitive event get underway, excellent pre-season practice for our golfers!
Please check the club notice board for upto date information on upcoming events at LGC,
All members should be aware of our AGM which will be at Hoggs Bar on 27th March, please make the effort to attend as it is only once a year and gives members a chance to ask questions and vote for your preferance of persons to be elected onto the club council. Which ultimately helps shape the club which you belong to …!
Good luck to all and enjoy your golf
