The mild weather for the time of year is great to see, however being realistic it is more likely to change quite soon rather than later down the line.  Infact the rain has began to show it’s ugly head already and the wind which is no stranger to Northern Ireland is also picking up, we are only a few weeks from the start of winter so we shouldn’t be surprised.  We shall see who are the hardened all weather golfers and how the weather will affect the competition?

The Armagh Potato Company sponsored winter league is into week five with only three weeks remaining of this popular and very competitive event.  Our winner this week with 45 points was Evan Simpson who was five shots clear of the next competitor!  Evan’s form suggested he was a likely candidate for a win at some stage, all that work with Vivian has obviously paid off, although Vivian has been seen wearing ear plugs.  In second place was the inform Davy McAdam with 40 points, closely followed by a chasing pack, Davy McCrory had the best gross score…well done fellas!

The Junior 9 hole competition was won by Ben Currie with 13 points, just pushing Samuel Rainy into 2nd spot on a countback, Nathan Ewart took 3rd place.  It’s good to see Ben get a win after four successive 2nd place finishes, great consistency but a win is always better!  Well done lads!
