The weather is starting to turn a little cooler but the odds are suggesting it will not be a white christmas this year… not in Loughgall anyway, I would hazard a guess that there is a strong possibility of rain?
The Weekly Challenge was hit quite hard with the weather conditions being rather wet, also the rush to be prepared for christmas was obviously a priority! However our winner was Vice Captain Eddie Millar with 40 points, well done Eddie! Infact it should be noted that the stardard was quite good, the lowest score was 35 points…. food for thought?
The last Turkey Trot prior to christmas was run Saturday past and it was Robert Treanor who ended up taking the last bird home with him….. there is a joke in the making but I will resist temptation, well done Robert! Well guess who came 2nd….none other than Vice Captain Eddie Millar. Eddie has obviously just hit a wee purple patch cos as you will have read he won the Weekly Challenge too! Well done Eddie you have won yourself a ham for christmas. News flash…. Clive Currie took the best gross prize, well done mate make sure you put that in your diary. Seriously though you normally expect the single figure handicappers to get the gross, so its a pretty good result for a player with a h.cap of 12.4.
In the new year we have the Team Challenge taking place and the indoor winter league is set to make its first appearance, please check the club notice for upto date information.
Wishing a very merry christmas to all and a successful new year! Good luck and enjoy your golf!
