Jonathan Hewitt scores a superb 43 points playing off his 5 handicap, thats really excellent golf well done Jonathan!  Another excellent score was the 41 points carded by Harvey K Park to give him 2nd place, I dont think Harvey will be playing off 23 for much longer, third place goes to Brian Nixon jnr with 38 points.  Sam Jenkins had the best gross score.  The senior prize goes to John Currie!

Section winners were Walter Beattie 0-12, Stephen Crowe 13-18, Wayne Hamilton 19+, front 9 goes to Raymond Henry and the back 9 was won by Norman Stewart.  There were 11 twos recorded and they were scored by Stephen Crowe, Ian Magill, Alan Magill, Rodney Clarke, Jack Traynor, Willie Fenton, Alan J Robinson, Harvey K Park and amazingly Michael Connor acquired 3 all for himself!  Very well done to all those who won prizes and better luck next time to the rest of us who just made up the numbers this week.

A couple of matches were played at the weekend, the Holt Shield Team played away at Helens Bay and produced a 3-2 victory!  Well done fellas!

The Ulster Cup Team were also away to the seaside up at Royal Portrush.  Unfortunately we were beaten 6-1 at their spectacular links course, it was only Stephen Mullen who had a very good win, but we are only at half time…. the return match is this Sunday 26th May back at Loughgall.  We hope the seasiders enjoy our hospitality when they visit our wee gem and find our course worth the journey?portrush

This coming Saturday we have a 4 club event, its always very interesting to see who does well, it requires a bit more imagination, invention and adaptability!  There will be a starter to ensure things run smoothly, but if you know you wont be playing contact Davy McCrory well beforehand so that your time slot can be used by another golfer keen to play in the competition.

The various matchplay competitions are up and running, if you have entered any of these competitions please check the notice board and ensure you make contact with your opponent as early as possible so matches can get played on time.  Contact Barry Rayner if their is a problem, but please dont expect special treatment just get your matches played if you want to continue in the competition.

As always keep practicing and…. Enjoy your golf!
