Davy McRoberts no longer the nearly man, 40 points with only 4 clubs and the competition winner! So close on many a competition but now a winner, well done Davy it had to happen sometime. Everyone wants to know if you are just taking the four clubs for the next competition?
Second place was Adrian Simpson with 39 points and 3rd was Simon Wallace on 38 points! The gross prize went to Richard Wright, his 2nd shot going in at the 4th hole would have helped nicely. The seniors prize was won by Malachy McHugh. Section winners were Davy McCrory 0-12, Rodney Clarke 13-18 and Kenny Mitchell in the 19+ group. Only three golfers got a two, they were Johnathan Lockhart, Simon Wallace and Barry Rayner. Well done to all those in the prizes!
We had three teams playing at home on Sunday, John Allens Rossmore team, Cecil Brownlee had his Ulster Fourball team playing and Clive Currie`s Ulster Cup team were also in action. Im afraid there were only losses for each of our teams although some excellent golf was played circumstances went against us. The damage had been done on the away legs, very disappointing for all concerned. Well done to all those who represented our club so well, better luck next time! We will learn from the experience and be better prepared in the future, thats what competition is all about… enjoying the challenge and continual improvement!
