Both Sean McCann and Jeff Armstrong had excellent rounds of 45 points but Seans better back nine score edged him into 1st place and winner of the competition. There were more good scores produced… Dessie Hughes had a round of 44 points and Neville Cornett had 43 points! The course was somewhat shortened as usual for this time of year so the amount of higher scores produced reflects this, but never the less they are still very good rounds of golf. After revealing the winner of the competition I feel its worth mentioning that there was a round of 46 points produced, Steve Wall who in his haste to get to the tee box hadn’t realised until he was about to tee off that he was not entered in the competition. At this point he felt it was too late to do anything about it as he didnt want to hold up the tee box, I think he will remember next week! Further to this point I would ask anyone who is a member of the club and playing on Saturday morning…are you entered in the competition, if not why not? If you are not entering the competition you are not supporting your club…. its your club! If its because you are not playing your best at the moment, I would suggest that most people aren’t but you should still support your own club and how do you know when you are going to have a good or even a great round….? Those of you who are not entering the competition each week but still playing your golf in our tee times are adding nothing to the club, those tee times are for club members who enter the competition! If you are one of those golfers I would ask you to be more supportive, there are a small number of people who appear to be looking to get what they can from the club. Without the funds supplied by the members who enter the competitions there is no club, you cant take out more than there is in the pot and we supply those funds. Food for thought!
There were three 2s recorded and they were by John Currie, Jason Wilson and Jeff Armstrong well done fellas!
Please check the notice board in by the computer or the back room for upto the moment information.
Good luck to you all and enjoy your golf!
