The PC.Com team scramble had a shotgun start on Saturday….and that was not the only fireworks on the course? It was an excellent conclusion to the season, several very good scores were produced to provide a knife edge finish, so close it was a 3 way tie! In third place….. was the formidable 3 ball team of Eugene Scullion, Alan Mills and the old codger himself recently returned from the far east Willie (the turp) McWilliams. In second place….. the impressive 4 ball of Lee Kirrane, Jonny McKnight, Derick (the guru) Hynes and this seasons captains day winner Jason Wilson! However the successful team who would probably be considered something of an outside bet…. but on their day they can and did shake up the bookies odds to take 1st place and maybe dislodge the odd nose in the process. Congratulations to the winning team of (in order of good looks….;-))
Barry Rayner, Mark Gomba, Steve Wall and the young and promising Jonathan Hewitt who has recently improved with the guidance of his regular 4 ball partners! Very well done to the prize winners! Just a mention about the quality of competition that take part in these events, any victory would carry less worth and significance but for those who tried but fell just short, so well done to all who played on the day! Thanks to Davy Coote who was waiting at the starters hut spatchula in hand with burgers, baps & bar-b- q on the go, we should do this for every event Davy!
The final Weekly Challenge of the season was won by the big hitting Jack Traynor, Derick Hynes took 2nd place…well done fellas!
