The last regular golf competition of the official golfing season was played in good weather, that is a statement in itself, to think we are at the end of September and are still playing the golf ball as it lies! If I remember correctly Seamus Golding was one of those players who had a good start to the season, well it looks like he was giving everyone else a chance to do well before hitting the top of the leader board once again! Seamus scored 43 points, 5 points clear of the next best score which was young Davy McRoberts with 38 points! Kenny Mitchell was a good 3rd with 37 points, Jonathan Hewitt once again took the best gross (I think thats 9 maybe 10 best gross prizes he has won this season!) and Dessie Hughes the best senior score…not the first senior gross prize for Dessie either!
Section winners were Sam Jenkins 0-12, Graham Buckley 13-18, Neville Cornett 19+, front 9 goes to Evan Simpson and the back 9 was won by Willie (fore left… now right) Turner.
The Weekly Challenge was won by Aaron Norman Agg, 41 points was good enough to see off the challenge of 2nd place Stephen Mullen on 40 points. Well done all those in the prizes and better luck next time to the also rans!
This Saturday we have the PC.Com team event, be at the starters hut for 8am sharp! Everyone needs to find out which tee box you will be starting from in the shotgun start so be on time please!
Early notification of Loughgall Golf Club Annual Quiz Night! Friday 14th, 8pm at Hoggs Bar…. everyone welcome, bring your friends or family to make up your team, anyone can attend you dont need to be a member of LGC to enjoy the evening. If you like a quiz or enjoy some friendly banter you are welcome. The ladies of Loughgall have traditionally been good supporters of the quiz night in the past, we hope you will be there again to enjoy the 2014 quiz night?
Just a word about the Ryder Cup…… fantastic! What an advertisement for golf, what a game…..who knows our junior golfers could be doing that in 10, 12 or 15 years time…why not?
