Cairndhu golf club, situated at the gateway to the Glens of Antrim was the 2021 host venue for the Golf Ireland Veterans Cup.
On a day of fine weather and great golfing conditions, Lynne Coote from Loughgall golf Club came home victorious with the 85 year old Veterans Cup. Lynne who is playing fantastic golf recently was the runaway winner with an amazing score of 41 points on a new golf course – An amazing achievement. Lynnes back nine were particularly good and having parred the 12th, 13th & 14th holes she managed to obtain 23 points on the back nine. Great golf Lynne and many congratulations from all the ladies at Loughgall.
This is the second occasion that the Veterans Cup has come home to Loughgall. It was previously won by Fiona Martin at Banbridge golf club in 2017. This is a great honour for our small club to receive this prestigious cup twice within four years. Well done to both Fiona and Lynne.
If you would like to be a part of our small club the ladies at Loughgall would certainly give you a warm welcome. Our club provides a friendly, relaxed atmosphere where visitors can feel at home on our beautifully manicured and challenging parkland course. At present we are actively recruiting ladies to join us. Our aim is to be inclusive and encouraging to golfers of all abilities – either experienced golfers or those who are new to the game. Members can choose to pay the annual subscription up front or by monthly Direct Debit. Discounted green fees and other concessions are available at reception. Rates are very competitive and well worth checking out.
Our main competition day is Saturday and this enviable position is one we are proud of and pleased to uphold. In fact ladies have no playing restrictions and tee slots are easily secured with our online booking system or by contacting reception.
Our Lady Captain Eileen Mclean and Vice-Captain Pauline Mc Ardle would be very pleased to hear from anyone wishing to join our Ladies section. Irrespective of ability a warm welcome awaits new members and visitors to the club.
