The month of December was a very disappointing month for many reasons, but sticking to the golf it has probably been the biggest wash out in any single month that I can remember.  When the course has been open to play it has only just been playable, we were lucky to get one week of the Turkey Trot played, at least Aaron Agg and Cecil Brownlee manage to get a turkey and a ham for xmas, there were very few days where the course was not sloppy under foot.  Obviously this is all down to the weather and very little can be done to the course under these circumstances, we have a keen bunch of green keepers that are itching to get stuck into the necessary work to bring the state of the course upto the required standard for competition golf.  We have a big year ahead of us, our first opportunity to host an inter-club competition, but under the guidance of our present captain Eddie Millar who has kept LGC on the straight and narrow for another year and our vice-captain Stephen Wilson who will be taking the helm very soon, we have the right people to make sure 2016 will be a year to remember…. when the rain stops!  We are also looking forward to the strengthening of our Junior Section which made great strides under both Davy McRoberts and Clive Currie who have really worked well with them.  The professional help of Vivian Teague will be available again this year and hopefully more recruits to LGC Juniors!  A big thank you to all those who helped in anyway during the 2015 season, all who work at the Country Park and especially our sponsors who are very much appreciated, we look forward to your continued support!

We at LGC wish everyone a very happy and successful 2016 and may the year be good to you!
