In the all Ireland semi-final Gort ran out winners over Ulster side Loughgall by the score of 3 to 2
John Kelleher and Michael Ryan stormed to a 6&5 win early on against an out of sorts Patrick McElmeel and James O’Hagan to put the Connacht side ahead.
Gort then added another point soon after when John Hynes and Kevin Mulkerrins were 4&2 winners over Stephen Wilson and Cecil Brownlee.
Loughgall did manage to win the top match where Kevin Keegan and Drew Willis sealed their point with an 18th hole win over Michael McInerney and Marin Callanan.
Seamus Golding and James Corkin levelled the match on the 17th to keep their unbeaten record intact
The winning point was delivered in the final match where Michael Cahill and Robert Lahiffe ended their match against Adrian Faulkner and Harry Clougher with a 3&2 win.
