Craigavon Cup + match reports
Match 1 on Tuesday 9th July at home against Lurgan. Strong showing from the team, winning all 6 games, including 2 debuts, ending up with our largest ever margin of victory, 20-4. Return leg in Lurgan on Thursday 18th July. A very tight match ending in a 14 – 10 defeat.
Match 3 in Dungannon on Friday 26th July. Another fantastic performance from the boys, final score 20-4. Match 4 and return leg against Dungannon. Improved performance from Dungannon but not enough as Loughgall ran out winners by 16-8.
Match 5 against a strong Lisburn team in Loughgall on Friday 16th August. Another close game ending in a 14.5/9.5 win for Loughgall. Match 6 was held the following day in Lisburn and would decide the outcome of the group. Incredibly tight affair that went down to the final game on the 18th. 2 putts from 40 feet were required to qualify and our last player duly delivered to book our place in the final. Final score on day was 14-10 win for Lisburn, but Loughgall win group.
Final played on Monday 19th August vs Tandragee at Lisburn. Tight affair for the first few holes but Loughgall powered ahead after 9 holes. Back nine went in a similar fashion ending in a 19.5/4.5 win for Loughgall. Points for Eoin McGeary, Patrick McGeary and Connor Mackle, 4 each. Ben Currie 3.5, Tiernan Donachy 3 and Jack Furphy 1.
