We can all see the situation as regards to golf, we are at the mercy of the weather and there is very little we can do about it. Other parts of the country have it worse than ourselves and are really in dire circumstances, so not being able to play the course is a pain but in comparison to what is happening elsewhere it is a minor inconvenience.
A few things of note to bring to your attention, the club AGM is scheduled for February 16th at Hoggs Bar 8pm start, please make an effort to be there as some important issues will be dealt with and we need you the members to take part in this process. It does seem at times that very few are interested in what happens at LGC, if no one takes an interest or bothers to go to things like the AGM, Prize Night, Captain’s & President’s evenings we will not have a club. The club should reflect the interests of the majority of the membership, otherwise you will have a handful of people who make all the decisions based on the opinions of a minority of the members. Lets see a few more faces and opinions at this AGM, put the time and date in your diary or phone and make the effort!
You will see a sheet of A4 on the club notice board for names of those interested in being elected on to the club committee/council, your name plus two signatures from members who wish to nominate you are required. The notice will only be there until the 26th of January after that date you have missed the deadline. The nominee’s will be put forward at the AGM to be voted on to determine who is elected. If you think you have something to offer the club and would like to help in the running of LGC perhaps you should get your name on the sheet….?
