A surprisingly pleasant week, the expected change to the weather didn’t really happen the way it was predicted but the long term forecast is a very cold winter….let’s hope it’s a very long term forecast, the longer the better or maybe not at all….?

Week One of the Winter League and we have some excellent scoring at the top of the leaderboard…. Davy McAdam shoots the best score of the day, a  score of 46 points.  Two other scores of 44 points, Seamus Golding takes 2nd position and Sam Jenkins gets the best gross!  Remember it’s the best six scorecards out of the eight, so the two worst rounds get dropped, but looking at the points being scored in the 1st round I would not be surprised to see the contenders having to produce six scores all 40+ points.  Maybe it will take a change in the weather conditions to bring the scores down?

The Junior 9 hole competition was won by Fin Walsh, 2nd Ben Currie and 3rd was John Harrison, well done to the prize winners, those who didn’t do good will have another chance to do better next week!  So keep practicing because next week it could be your turn to win!

Good luck and enjoy your golf!
