The big competition of the week was TraynorsLtd, a stroke event which allows those who have a good solid round of golf to reap the rewards of their consistency.  It’s good to see the name of Steve Wall at the top of the leaderboard, Steve is known for producing some very good scores when hitting form which would give rise to the question of his handicap.  However its the old problem of inconsistency which affects most of us that sometimes drives us…including Steve to distraction, if Steve gets some consistency we will see a dramatic reduction in his h.cap because there is a very good golfer just waiting to get out!  Steve’s score of a 88 nett 69 was the best of the day which gives him the win, in 2nd place was Jamie Mulholland who is a consistent performer, a gross 76 nett 70 was his round for the day.  Jonathon Agnew went around in 93 which works out to a nett 71 well done Jonathon you took 3rd place.  The best gross of the day was produced by Jonny McNabb going around in 76 shots!  The best senior score was that of Eugene Scullion who tends to be very steady with his scoring from week to week, a bit of an old war horse you could say…. his gross 85 gave him a nett 72!  Section winners were Stephen Wilson 0-12, Paul Hughes 13-18, James Curran 19+, front 9 was David Kelly and the back 9 was Kevin Keegan!  well done all those who were in the prizes!

The Weekly Challenge sponsored by Murder Mystery NI was no challenge for our club Captain Eddie Millar who murdered the course, it’s no mystery why his 44 points won the competition and was well clear of the chasing pack!  Aaron Agg came 2nd with 40 points just pushing Graham Moore into third on a countback!

The Junior 18 hole competition was won convincingly by Nathan Agg with 46 points from Fintan Walsh in 2nd place.  That great round of Nathan is another high scoring round for him, the computer has stepped in to give an additional cut to his handicap, Nathan is now playing off 16… a cut of 5 shots, well you deserve it well done!

Good luck and enjoy your golf!
