This is the very last competition before the winter league gets underway and Rodney Clarke has finished in fine form. Rodney has been there or there abouts a few times this season so to win the final event should be a very satisfying way to finish. Although the number of entries where somewhat reduced compared to most weeks there were still plenty of golfers up for the challenge but Rodney`s 38 points was good enough on the day. Close behind in 2nd and 3rd place with 37 points were Aaron Agg and John Allen respectively, John just pushed into 3rd position by Aaron after the countback. Mark Placitt had the best gross score with a round of 79. The best senior score was that of Dessie Hughes!
Section winners were Gerald Williamson 0-12, Jeff Armstrong 13-18, George Lockhart 19+, Alan Magill had the best front nine and Steve Wall the best back nine. There were only two 2s this week and they were had by Barry Rayner and Stephen Thompson. Well done those golfers who were in the prizes and better luck next time for all those who didnt achieve the round of golf they hoped they would play!
The winter league is now underway, its really important that all golfers in this competition make the effort to play each week. This is very much a team event although individuals can still excel and be recognised and rewarded for their good golf. Make sure you get playing each week otherwise you will reduce your teams chance to do well.
A few simple things to keep you on the right track; always sign into the computer before going out to play your competition round of golf, check that your score card is properly filled in before entering your score into the computer on your return and post your card into the box provided next to the computer. Remember you need a member of the club to mark and sign your scorecard and ensure you sign too! More information about the competition rules etc.,can be found on our website under the heading of club news.
There will be a charity quiz night held within the next few weeks, we ran a similar quiz night last year which turned out to be well attended and very successful. Im sure there will be plenty of banter and good humour on the night, its a night to socialise and enjoy. Details will be given soon regarding where and when etc.,
