The good weather brings the best out of McCrory
It may seem like you are given a mini weather report each week before we get down to the business of the golf that has occurred over the weekend. The weather plays a massive part in our golf and by recording the conditions at the time we give relevance to the outcome of the competition and how good the scores were. Fortunately we had some good weather on Saturday which not only helped the scoring but made the golf so much more enjoyable.
Davy McCrory wins Traynors Ltd sponsored strokeplay event at Loughgall with an excellent nett 68. A return to form from Davy was not unexpected, a good win and a boost to his confidence, Davy`s handicap is down to 10 and a strong possibility of seeing him in the mix in the next few competitions, well done Davy.
Second with a nett score of 70 was Keith Campbell, closely followed by Aaron Agg with a nett 71 in 3rd, also on a nett 71 but beaten on the countback was Nigel McCorry in 4th place.
The best Gross goes once again to Adam Kerr shooting a 77, well done mate. Best juvenile score was Adam Proctor with an excellent nett 67, thats a great score Adam.
Section winners were Sam Jenkins 0-12, Rodney Clarke 13-18, Kenny Mitchell 19-28, the front 9 goes to Stephen Thompson and the back nine was won by Stephen Crowe.
There were 11 two`s and they went to Brian Nixon, Kenny Kerr, Adam Proctor, Stephen Crowe, Kevin McCoy, Brendan Morgan, Jackson Ruddoch, Aaron Agg, James Cunningham, Jonathan McNabb, finally and fittingly Jack Traynor. Very well done to all the prize winners!
Just a wee observation, there seems to be an amount of litter around the course, should you see a discarded wrapper or plastic bottle please do the right thing and pick it up and drop it in the next bin you come across. If everyone does this the problem soon disappears and makes a great improvement to the appearance of the course….Thank you!
