Good weather on the day of an event always makes things go that little bit better and we had a decent day on Saturday.  Our sponsors SIM GOLF 365 from Portadown were at the 1st tee box with their event tent and a selection of goodies for the golfers and some promotions being offered, I must say I was impressed with their efforts and I am sure other golfers would have been pleasantly surprised too!  Well done SIM GOLF 365!

There were two potentially winning scores of nett 66 from Stephen O`Connor and Robert Treanor, if you read the headline you now know Stephen O`Connor won on the countback with a better back nine holes.  Well done Stephen a well deserved win, I think you were due a result, lets see if you can keep that good golf going and challenge for next Saturday`s competition…. this maybe the start of a purple patch for you?  Hard luck for Robert who recently won our captains day event and is obviously still playing well, keep it up mate!  Third place goes to Eamon Gorman with a nett 67 and fourth was Anthony McElmeel with a nett 68, very close fellas just not quite enough on the day, but you are in the prizes!

Best Gross score goes to Stephen Wilson taking 78 shots in his round of golf, nice score Stephen.  Adam Proctor produced the best juvenile score with a nett 74 well done Adam.

Section winners are Ian Gordon 0-12, Willie Turner 13-18, Dennis Glass 19-28, front nine Seamus Golding and the back nine goes to Nigel Magowan.

In addition to the above mentioned prizes SIM GOLF 365 put up a longest drive prize that went to Jonathan Hewitt, a closest the pin prize which was won by Stephen Crowe and a raffle for a Taylormade driver which Willie Young was fortunate to win, well done fellas!

There were 16 two`s recorded and they went to John Allen, Dessie Hughes, Nicholas Salley, Keith Campbell, Nigel Magowan, Jonny McKnight, Malachy Cullen, Noel Holmes, Alan Magill, Kevin McCoy, Aaron Agg, Michael Connor and finally young Willie Turner.

Very well done to all our prize winners and better luck next time to the rest of us.
