The weather was not as good as recent weeks, those playing earlier in the day would have started their round in wind and driving rain.  However by 10am the sun began forcing it’s way through the cloud cover and the rain subsided to leave a very pleasant day for golf.  Our winner of the event was Jack Traynor who notched up an impressive 42 points and acquired two 2s in the process, it proved to be the best score by two shots…. very well done Jack you have just reduced your handicap by two!Second place went to Willie Crozier with 40 points just one ahead of Willie Fenton who scored 39 points.  The best gross score goes to Adam Kerr once again who shot a 75, Adam seems to be making the gross prize his very own… great golf! The section winners were Pat Keegan 0-12, Steven Kane 13-18,  Jonathan Faulkner 19 plus, best front 9 goes to Jeff Armstrong and the back 9 was won by Harvey Park.  The best senior prize was won by Raymond Henry.  There were 11 two’s recorded, they were by Harvey Park, James Crawford, Mark Placitt, Stephen Thompson, Kenny Kerr, Nigel McCorry, Keith Campbell, Graham Moore, Barry Rayner and two from Jack Traynor!Well done all those who featured in the prizes and unlucky those of you who played in the competition but didn’t achieve the round of golf you were hoping for, better luck next time! A big thank you to MJM Design for their sponsorship and all those businesses that have supported Loughgall Golf Club with sponsorship, we very much appreciate it and hope we help to keep your name out there in the market place. The next event is on 24th August and kindly sponsored by Traynors Ltd !It would be amiss of me not to mention how brilliantly Europe played in the Solheim Cup, it was amazing…. the girls/ladies done fantastic! Good luck, keep practicing and enjoy your golf!
