Although Saturday was free from ice and snow it was still a bitterly cold morning, the breeze was far from refreshing, chill would be the easiest way to describe it.  Despite the chill there was a decent turnout for our stableford competition.

Wayne Crawford was the name at the top of the leaderboard at the end of the days play.  Wayne picked up 38 points to take 1st prize and the spoils, well done Wayne a good mornings work, all looks good for the start of the season!  The only other person on 38 points was John Currie who has been playing well recently but misses out on the countback this week.

Our Gross prize winner was none other than our very own handicap secretary Jason Wilson, who seems to be finding some good form and with the new season only around the corner Jason could be one to watch?

There were only two 2s and they were by Willie McWilliams and Davy McCrory.

Very well done to all that took part in the competition, your continued support is much appreciated, without you we have no club…. you are the club!  Keep entering the competitions, keep competitive, there is nothing better than competition to improve your golf and get your handicap down.

Speaking of competitions, the Team Challenge match between the Ulster Cup Team and the Captains Team was played on Saturday, the Captains Team won 9-3.

Now we are down to the final four.  The winners of group (A) play the runners-up of group (B) and group (B) winners play runners-up of group (A)… which means Lakeside play the Ulster Cup team and the Captains Team play Edenderry.  Tee off for these matches will be 9am Saturday 16th March.  Enjoy your golf and…. Good Luck!
