We are only in March and we already have several multiple winners, leading the win list is Jonathan McNabb with his third win at the weekend, his 38 points was the best of the day.

Jonathan Hewitt had the best gross…. I am sure Jonathan will be acquiring a few best gross scores again this coming season as he did last year!

David McCrory had the only two in the competition, thats very unusual but good for Davy.  Its all looking good for an exciting golfing year at Loughgall!

An update on the Team Challenge… Lakeside played the Ulster Cup Team which turned out to be a very close and hard fought match but Lakeside emerged with a 6.5-5.5 win.  Rumour has it that a number of players that were eligible to play for either side are considering their options for next year….?  The Captains team played Edenderry who have a great reputation in this event, believe or not this tie was even closer than the other semi-final.  Three extra holes had to be played by Rodney Clarke for Captains Team and Leslie Lyttle of Edenderry, eye witnesses report that nerves played a part in the outcome with putts lipping out and tight forearms having an effect on approach shots.  However someone had to come out victorious and that turned out to be Rodney Clarke for the Captains Team.  Congratulations to all four semi-finalists you done your teams proud, great competitive spirit by all!

Lakeside play the Captains Team in the final, this will need to be played promptly to avoid causing any problems with the start of the season upon us, maybe this Sunday… watch his space?

This Saturday we have the Captains drive with a shotgun start, which means be at the course no later than 8.30am for a prompt start at 9am.  Remember you may be teeing off at the 9th or the 15th and need to get there and be ready at the tee box in good time for the start!

Wishing our new Club Captain Graham Buckley all the best for his year at the helm!

Have a great season and enjoy your Golf!
