The weather has been fantastic and so has the golf, Jamie Mulhollands 46 points is some score from an 11 handicapper but it was only just enough to see off the opposition. Although a brilliant round of golf, there was a second score of 46points………… and it was another Jamie? Jamie Wortley was very unlucky to be beat on the countback into 2nd place. Usually you would feel pretty safe coming in with 46 points and expect to win the competition especially when you play off 9 and shoot one under the course! Another great score of 45 points earned Michael Connor playing off 11 the best gross prize. Cormac Toner who plays off a 20 h.cap took a good 3rd place with a score of 43 points! I know we had an exceptional winning score last week but great credit should go to these fellas playing off relatively low handicaps for achieving such scores as were produced on Saturday, thats tremendous golf lads well done.
The senior prize goes to Stephen Mullen. Section winners were Stephen Wilson 0-12, Alan McCartney 13-18 and Michael Hook took the 19+ section. There were 13 twos recorded and they were by Barry Wallace, Stephen Wilson, Jamie Mulholland, John Allen, Wayne Crawford, Stephen Mullen, Barry Rayner, Gary Jordan, Spencer Lawson, Eddie Millar, Adam Kerr and Jamie wortley had a brace of 2s…. Well done all the above mention players who won prizes and to those who scored very well I am sure you will be more than capable of playing off your new handicaps…?
Our Rossmore Cup team played at home against Mannan Castle over the weekend and came away with a 3-1 win, well done all the team but special praise to the pairings of Aaron Agg & Willie Turner, Graham Buckley & Jeff Armstrong and Stephen Crowe & Davy McRoberts who produced the goods on the day. Yes the 3-1 win is a very good win, but we know that the Mannan Castle team has turned that score over in the past so its still all to play for when we go to their course. Its this coming Saturday for the return match…. watch this space and keep your fingers crossed for our fellas to produce the sort of golf we know they can play.
We love this weather for the golf even though we are not really used to it, but make the most of it while it lasts and enjoy your golf!
