Another great turnout for the Glenview Trophies Stableford competition on Saturday, Glenview has been an excellent sponsor in recent years and a company whose services have been well used by our club.
As mentioned earlier, plenty of competition for the prizes this week but it took a touch of Glass to win the day, yes Denis Glass to be precise! His 45 points was the standout round of the day, Denis has crept into the prizes before but this was an excellent round and deservedly wins the competition and gets him cut a couple of shots too…. well done Denis! Bad luck Dessie Hughes, your round of 43 points only gets you 2nd place and cut two shots in the process but there is a win in you yet Im sure? Close behind in 3rd place was Steven Kane with 42 points, good shooting!
Jamie Mulholland went around in 76 shots to take the best gross score of the day!
The best senior score was that of Norman Stewart 39 points and the best junior score was won by Adam Proctor with 41 points!
The section winners were Davy McCrory 0-12, Kevin Keegan 13-18, Kenny Mitchell 19+, front 9 goes to Robert Treanor and the back 9 was won by Brian Adair!
There were sixteen 2s recorded and they were by B.Rayner, A.J.Robinson, J.Mulholland, J.Wortley, J.Faulkner, R.Treanor, W.Beattie, R.Henry, D.Glass, A.Mills, A.Proctor, J.McNabb, N.Walker, A.Ball and Adrian Simpson had a brace!
Well done to all those who managed to get in the prizes, may the next competition which is sponsored by Morgan Transport be more fortunate for those of us that tried but not good enough this week. Keep trying… you never know when that special round will come along?
