The 1st Saturday competition after xmas produced some excellent golf, fortunately the weather we had 24hrs earlier was 24hrs earlier otherwise the golf would have been off. There were a number of casualties from the storm, the bench at the 6th tee box suffered the weight of the large overhanging branch that used to be attached to the big tree. There will be many who feel their prayers have been answered, the over hanging branch caused problems for more than a few golfers and ruined some great rounds of golf!
Our winner with 43 points was Eugene Scullion and when it comes to golf he is a man who knows his onions, sorry about the attempt at humour but Eugene is a very handy 11 handicapper. It was unfortunate for Willie Turner who also had 43 points but was beat on the countback, so bad luck Willie maybe next time?
There was only the one 2 recorded and that was by Willie McWilliams, well done Willie!
Club stableford competitions will be held for the next few Saturday’s until the Team Challenge gets underway.
Check out the club notice board to see club teams that are competing in the 2014 season and put your name on the list of competitions that match your handicap criteria.
Good luck and enjoy your golf!
