march2013 2Yes the first win of the official 2013 season with 40 points off his 10 h.cap goes to Davy McCrory.  A very close run competition with four players on the same 40 points but Davy beat the three other players on the countback, very well done Davy!  Second, third and fourth positions go to Jonathan McKnight, Andrew Currie and Denis Glass respectively, so close, maybe next time fellas…. still an excellent score though.  Best Gross goes to Jonathan McNabb and best Juvenile score goes to Adam Proctor.

Section winners were Keith Campbell 0-12, Stephen Thompson 13-18 and a great start for Glen Adamson 19-28, who is a new member at Loughgall.  A new category for a prize introduced this season is for best score at each event by a senior (over 50) and the very first person to win this prize is John Currie, from that well known Currie dynasty that frequent the fairways of Loughgall.  Well done to all especially those in the prizes and an excellent turn out for the first event!

Some more prizes coming to those who managed to score a 2 in their round, they were Jonathan McKnight, Stephen Graham, Eddie Millar, James Crawford, Johnathan Lockhart, Jonathan McNabb, Wayne Crawford, Colin Jeffers and last but not least our vice-captain Kevin McCoy with 2 twos.

A word of praise for the great work of Loughgall Country Park staff who are first seen by visitors at reception, but maybe less visible about the course.  However their efforts have not gone unnoticed as the course is in great shape and will be even better if the good weather arrives?

A couple of wee reminders…. please do not park in the square around the back of reception, this is to be kept clear for staff and country park vehicles.

The other matter that has been raised is regarding dress code, the wearing of jeans or football shirts is not permitted especially during competitions.  Anyone in doubt of what is considered suitable attire should speak to a member of the club council/committee.  These dress code rules are the same as you will find in every other golf club and they will be strictly enforced.

This Saturday 6th April will be a stableford competition sponsored by the Famous Grouse.  You can click on fixtures 2013 at the top of the homepage on our website for the dates of forthcoming events.

Good luck to all who enter the competitions, remember competition golf will help you play better golf and be a better golfer…. enjoy your golf!
