Well with a headline like that its no surprise to hear that Davy McCrory won the final competition of the summer season! Davy had 44 points playing off a 10 handicap, just 2 over the course. To put that into perspective, we had two scores of 45 points last week from 20 h.cap and 17 h.cap players and they were excellent rounds, its rare to see a lower handicap player coming in with 44 points, that really is a superb round of golf. Well done Davy!
There were a few more good scores too, Kenny Mitchell had a great round of golf of with his 42 points, that gets Kenny 2nd place, just behind in 3rd place was Edwin Atkinson with 41 points beating Sam Jenkins into 4th position on the countback. Great scores fellas!
The best Gross score goes to our good friend Jason Wilson, good to see you scoring well again Jason! The best juvenile score goes to Michael Hook, well done Michael thats this week and last week you have been in the prizes, you see that practice is paying off mate.
Section winners were Simon Wallace 19-28, Adrian Simpson 13-18, Wayne Crawford 0-12, best front nine goes to Kenny Kerr and best back nine was Ian Magill.
There were a number of two`s recorded and they were by Andy Currie, Kenny Kerr, Alan Mills, Michael Connor, Stephen Mullen, Adam Proctor, Jason Wilson and finally Wayne Crawford who had 2 two`s! Very well done to all those in the prizes and hard luck to the also ran`s.
Well done to Seamus Golding who won the Morgan Cup! Thats all the internal competitions finished and now we look forward to our winter league which will be starting imminently, so with little time left make sure your name is on the sheet on the notice board by the computer and pay the entrance fee otherwise you will miss out!
I mentioned in my last report that Derick Hynes & Jonny McKnight were representing Northern Ireland in the Four Nations Challenge Competition. well there is good news… they are now the UK Champions, absolutely brilliant fellas. Well I think you can hang up your golf shoes and clubs because things cant get much better for you than where you stand now (Jonny, I will have 1st dibs on your golf bag….Ha!).
Rumour has it that the fellas who went over to Spain on a golfing holiday last week shot some fabulous scores, the word is a 69 for Jonny McKnight and… a 64 for John Currie, now that is only hearsay at the moment but if that is correct thay must have played out of their skin…. cant wait for their feed back?
The Winter League kindly sponsored by Armagh Potato Company should be starting this week so good luck and…. Enjoy your Golf!
