Saturdays Stableford Open was quite a popular event, even though a number of the regulars were away to other courses it was still a decent turnout. Loughgall is still a relative newcomer to open competitions but there should be a few each year from now on, it gives golfers a chance to appreciate our course and may bring new members too! Back to Saturday past… AA is a referance to Aaron Agg (not the breakdown & recovery service) and he is a man who can…and did walk away with a score of 43 points and 1st place! A very solid round of golf which will no doubt bring Aarons handicap down to a figure more appropriate for the standard of golf he is playing and has been playing for a while now…. very well done mate, keep it up! Second place is the much improved Jason Wilson who has had several weeks/months of competitive golf. Third place goes to Roy Holmes with Jonathan Hewitt taking the best gross score…again.
Section winners were Jonny McNabb 0-12, Seamus Golding 13-18, Jonathan Agnew 19+, front 9 goes to Kenneth Todd and the back 9 went to William Stewart. Barry Rayner took the best senior prize. There were 6 twos, please check club notice board fo further information. Very well done to all the prize winners and better luck to those also rans next time!
The 4 club Challenge has been rescheduled Saturday 24th May!
A reminder to all those in the knockout competitions, check the date your match has to be played by and make contact as early as possible with your opponent to avoid losing your match without playing it!
Good luck and enjoy your golf!
