Week 3 of Loughgall Golf Club’s Team Challenge Competition…!

Its been very wet for sometime now, every golf course is in the same situation, we have been very lucky to play most weekends but obviously its not as enjoyable as playing in firm conditions.  Great credit to Loughgall’s ground staff for keeping the course in a playable condition,  but even greater praise for their work to areas which are best described as scruffland or scrubland.  These are the areas which you see around the course that you hope your golf ball never goes anywhere near.  These areas are being targeted by the ground staff and are being transformed by their hard work.  I can’t praise their work high enough, the tidying up of these areas alongside the rough just off the fairways is impressive and really does improve the whole look of the course.  Many thanks Brian Tedford, Wayne Haffey and all the ground staff.  There seems to be a particularly good relationship between our course/greens convenor Andrew Currie, Loughgall Country Park and Armagh Council and the results are an even better course which can give any of the privately owned courses a run for their money and our members great value for their money!
