As expected there were some good scores produced on the shortened course, but a very close call puts Andy Currie`s 45 points into number one spot beating Mark Gilpin into 2nd place on the countback. Andrew recently got two shots back from an indifferent 2012 season, anyone who knows Andy will not be surprised to see his name at the top of the leader board. Sometimes the lift a golfer gets from getting shots back kick starts a return to form…. it looks like its done the trick for Andrew, well done mate and very unlucky for Mark.
Closely behind in 3rd position was Wayne Crawford with 44 points, the Gross prize goes to Jonathan McNabb who went around three under the course, although the course has been shortened it is still an excellent score!
There were nine 2s recorded and they were by Eugene Scullion, Cecil Brownlee, Dessie Hughes, Graham Buckley, Nigel McCorry with Wayne Crawford and Jonnie McNabb taking a brace each! Well done those of you who were in the prizes and better luck next week for the rest of us!
In addition to the Club Stableford Competition on Saturday 4th February, Loughgall`s Team Challenge begins so those of you who are in a team should check the notice board or contact your Team Captain to see if or when you are playing.
Just a word to those who are willing to listen… if you are interested in improving your golf dont be staying away from regular golf over the winter! Those golfers that take a break invariably take longer to get back into the swing of things when the season starts, you may lose a couple of months before your form returns. Keep competing, enjoy your golf and good luck!
