The turnout for Saturdays competition was hit quite hard by the forecast of snow, but those of us who braved the conditions were pleasantly surprised. The course was in good condition, the greens played well and it was not as cold as the previous weekend. However the threat of snow put many golfers off, yes there was the odd flurry but it didn`t last too long and most of us was glad to be out.
Many of us were wondering if Willie McWilliams would win again this week and make it three in a row and create a piece of Loughgall Golf Club history? Actually Willie never got playing in the competition due to family commitments, so the hype of three in a row turned out to be a bit of an anticlimax. Its a shame because the way Willie has been playing and having a reduced turnout, he was definitely in with a chance of the triple.
There are only 1st and Gross prizes available this week because of the numbers playing and its the story of the two Jonnies, McKnight gets the win with 41 points and McNabb takes the Gross going around the course 3 over…. well done fellas!
There were six 2s and they were by Jonny McNabb, Jonny McKnight, Aaron Agg, Derick Hynes and finally Barry Rayner who had a brace of 2s. It would be worth checking the notice board to see what the payout was for getting a two this week? Very well done to the prize winners but also anyone who played the competition this week!
Don`t let the weather put you off, enter the competitions and…. Enjoy your Golf!
