With the bad weather this week the course was as wet as could be without being closed, however this did not dampen the enthusiasm of the golfers of Loughgall. A reasonable turnout saw Rodney Clarke at the top, 42 points gets him his first win of the year. Two shots behind in second place was Willie McWilliams who has been in great form since the beginning of 2013. Well done Rodney and runner up Willie.
Gross prize goes to Wayne Crawford who also seems to be playing well at the moment, another one to watch for the beginning of the season.
There were just four 2s this week and three of them were by Willie McWilliams! The other two was by Adam Kerr on the 13th hole. Once again well done to all the prize winners and better luck next time for the rest of the golfers, persevere…. your turn will come.
Andy Currie was going for three competition wins in a row but did not quite achieve the score he had been producing in previous weeks, unlucky Andy you done well to put yourself in with a chance of the triple. No doubt the thought of three in a row was somewhere in the back of your mind, it can be very difficult to block it out once it is in your head.
Another round of the Team Challenge gets underway again this coming weekend, so there will be plenty of activity on the first tee providing the weather permits? Anyone not playing in the teams would do well to be out early to avoid congestion at the tee box, check at reception for the time of team challenge tee off for both Saturday and Sunday.
Keep turning out, keep competitive and enjoy your golf!
