Club Stableford result from 20/2/2010

In the first quarter final match in the Club Team Challenge Cup at Loughgall on Saturday morning saw Ross Kelly’s Tigers roar to a shock win over the club juveniles winning the match by one hole in the count back after the game had ended 2-2 and 7 to 6 in holes. Tiger’s wins came from Derrick Hynds and Paddy McElmeel who won by 1 hole thanks to Derricks fabulous long putt on the 18th green for a birdie. Ross Kelly and Willy Young had a fantastic win in their game winning by 6 holes. The juvenile’s wins came from Michael Conner and Mathew Bawn by two holes. Ben McAlister and juvenile convener Denis Lavery won their game by 2 holes. The shocks continued in the other quarter final that saw pre tournament favourites The Ulster Fourball Team going out painfully 2.5 to 1.5 against Ian Magill`s Ulster Fourball Old Boys. Unfortunately there is no match report as result card was not returned. The semi finals get under way on Saturday morning at 8.30 am with Neil Walkers Holt Shield team up against Ross Kelly`s Tiger`s and at 9.15 the club secretary`s Rossmore Team are back in action against Ian Magill`s inform Ulster Fourball Old Boy`s. The club stableford at the weekend was won by Jason Wilson with a score of 40 pts off his seven handicaps. The runner up was 12 handicapper Jonathan McKnight with 39 pts. The gross prize was won by by Jonathan McNabb. There will be a club stableford event next Saturday 27th February. Players are reminded that the tee box will be closed from 8.30 am-10.00am due to the semi-finals of the Club Team Challenge Cup.
