Loughgall Juveniles claim the Craigavon Cup Final

Congratulations to John Allens Juvenile team in the Craigavon Cup Final against a very sporting team from Edenmore golf club.

This was a truly inspirational win for the young Loughgall team in the greatest game of golf this reporter has ever had the priviledge to watch.

The Loughgall team of Paul Nixon, Michael Connor, Ben McAllister, Phillp McCoy, Daniel Huey, Garath Strain and Graham Currie for victory had to show a display of unrivaled heart, skill and determination after coming from behind to tie the match at 14 each and forcing the last two players into a play off at the 17th hole.

Loughgalls hero in the play off came in the shape off Graham Currie, in all truth, wasn't playing particularly well, but he allways kept trying with his cavalier style of play to turn things around, and around they turned with Graham hitting a beauty of a drive up the 17th fairway followed by second shot to the front of the green with everything he had. Two putts latter it was all over.

The young Loughgall team might have won the cup but the reall winner on the day was the game of golf and the sportsmanship shown by both teams in allowing this game to turn out the way it did.
