Jonathan Hewitt representing N.Ireland in U.S. Kids Golf European Championship
28/04/2008

Congratulations to one of our own juveniles, Jonathan Hewitt for being selected to represent his country Northern Ireland in the opening ceremony festivities at the Inaugural U.S. Kids Golf European Championship.
Each representative will be introduced and asked to say the following phrase in his/her native tongue: "I represent the golfing kids from {country name}. We are delighted to play in this first European Kids Golf Championship here in Gullane Scotland ".
Jonathan will also play in the tournament for his age group and will hope to do well as the top 3 finishers (and ties) in each age and gender group who meet the scoring requirements for the World Championship will automatically receive an invitation to the U.S. Kids Golf World Championship in 2008.
The tournament will be played May 27-30, 2008 on five of Scotland's historic golf courses in Gullane, East Lothian, Scotland.
Gullane Golf Club will serve as the host course. Built in 1898, Gullane has been a qualifying venue for the Open Championship and boasts a fantastic view across Aberlady Bay to Edinburgh and the Firth of Forth.
It is a region steeped in golf's traditions and will be an experience of a lifetime for the young players. In nearby North Berwick, the oldest junior tournament, established in 1868, is still being played.
Good luck Jonathan!
